GPS worthless

A civilian 'hiker' GPS is weighted towards being light, user friendly, and cheap.

It can indeed get you unlost from the woods with an error of around 100 meters, after all, generally you only need to get to the road/parking lot where you put your car.

If you need more precise coordinates, you might want to look into a better unit.  It'll be expensive though.

Yup.  My $99, bottom of the line (no WAAS), Garmin Etrex has never let me down.  I use it to mark where I put my treestand or where I park the truck when hunting new areas.  Sometimes I'm 50ft away from my destination when it claims to be at the destination, but that's close enough for my needs.
