I am now officially pi$$ed off at UPS
« on: April 19, 2022, 11:56:58 PM »
We have a regular driver in my business office 2-3x per week. No complaints. He knows us, knows our schedule, knows we live 6 miles from town on a one lane track that snakes through the valley alongside the creek and trees grow over the road so sometimes it’s like driving thru a tunnel. He and we are both happy to get our home deliveries at the office in town.
So I have 6 bottles of very nice wine on order. First attempted delivery was yesterday when we were both working in town. Door tag left at house. (Obviously not our usual driver) I even stopped a UPS driver at the library yesterday because I didn’t recognize him and we live in a small town. He checked his log and said he didn’t have it, must be Darren, tried calling him and got no answer.
Rearranged our sched so someone would be home every minute of today for 2nd attempt. I also signed the door tag from yesterday and left instructions that we were home but no matter what please leave pkg.
BTW, I spread new rock on the drive today with the tractor.
Left for a meeting, wife at home, got a late email that 2nd attempt was unsuccessful! They will try again tomorrow when no one is home. Called UPS offshore CS- no love. They said attempt was made and door tag left- again. Blah blah blah.
Bullshit. Yesterdays signed door tag is the only one there and oh btw, only tracks in the new rock are mine. Called UPS offshore CS again. Useless waste of time unless the upgrade to “expedited” means something.
So my 6 bottles of very nice wine are bouncing around for 3-4 additional days, fluctuating temps, and I’m probably going to have to drive 80 miles round trip to pick it up.
Dear UPS, our usual driver Larry is great. These other lying lazy sumbich drivers should go back to sleeping on their mommas couch and playing video games.

I had the local UPS store pack and ship a powered Subwoofer I sold on eBay to New York, insured, and it arrived damaged. I filed a claim on it and UPS said "it was poorly packaged, take it up with the UPS store that packed it. Claim Denied!"
I might not last very long or be very effective but I'll be a real pain in the ass for a minute!

Kingcreek, sounds like they either lied or were going to the wrong address.  Did you try to pick it up at the local UPS depot?  Mine is about 10 miles up the highway.  Usually I can take the tag there, show ID and pick it up.  I have their phone number and they have suggested I call ahead and they will check if the truck is back yet.  I have picked up a number of "signature required" packages that way.

It’s bouncing around for another day on the truck and then going to distribution depot purgatory for 5 days 40 miles away from me. If I don’t pick it up there I will get hit with return shipping and reshipping charges.
There are only three addresses on our road and the numbers are on the mailboxes at the road for all 3.

Since my neighborhood is popular with porch pirates, I have stuff that won't fit in an Amazon drop box shipped to the store I work at.

Tomorrow I have an air conditioner showing up.
