David McCallum, famous for his role as spy Illya Kuryakin in The Man From U.N.C.L.E. TV series and later as forensic pathologist "Ducky" in the NCIS TV show, has died of natural causes at age 90.

I remember an episode of NCIS where the characters were speculating about what his Ducky character looked like as a young man - Agent Gibbs (Mark Harmon) said Ducky looked like Illya Kuryakin, whereupon the other (younger) NCIS agents looked perplexed and said "Who?"

I once saw David MCallum live on stage in a summer stock production, somewhere in the mid-1970s. He was a better actor than some people gave him credit for.

One thing about being a geezer is that I got to enjoy Mr McCallum as Ducky and Ilya.  RIP.

BIG fan of "The Man From U.N.C.L.E.", Had that spy case/gun kit they sold back then.
