I rediscovered this spice mix when I was in Mexico in September.

Holy crap is it good just sprinkled on fresh fruits and veggies. Just gobbled down two tomatoes.



Walmart and Amazon sells it, fyi.

Not much heat, it's a citrus chili flavor.

I've not had it before, but it looks like sort-of a mixture of "lemon pepper" (which also has salt in it) and ground New Mexico red chilies.  Don't know if it has a little sugar or not, or perhaps some MSG.  I'll look for some next time I'm at Walmart =)  It sounds great for seasoning fish and skinless chicken breast.

No sugar or MSG

Just chili, lime, and sea salt

It's more a flavor spice mix, not a cooking spice mix. Apply it when eating.

We buy it almost by the case. Good on most anything that benefits from lemon or lime. Turns plain old corn on the cob up to 11. Odd usage suggestion... sprinkle a little on your chili to brighten up the flavor. Same for mashed potatoes.

If you want the zest without added chile powder or salt, pick up a jar of lime powder. Great for savory things that need a little zing to round out the flavor profile.

Interesting. It was all over the place in CA, and is even here in potatoho (at least my part, as we have a lot of Mexican ag workers). In fact I think I might have some in the cupboard from the last time my Mexican nephew in law was here and bought some at the local grocery.

Amazon has it, but you're local grocer may have it too, check in the Mexican food area or where the hot sauces are.

I remember having it years ago somewhere, not sure if it was at a restaurant in WY or CO, but it was someplace out west.

My lady friend's neighbors at her place in Mexico are from LA and they bought a place in Mexico like my lady friend did. They are 2nd or 3rd generation Mexican and had family ties to the area in Mexico. They had us over for drinks the first night I was there, and they had various cut up vegies, like cucumbers, tomatoes, raddishes and container of Tajin next to it. He said sprinkle a bit of this on the veggies, it's super popular in LA. I remembered the taste from an earlier experience as mentioned above.

Last weekend, I was at Wal-Mart and I was buying some stuff to make Texas Caviar for an afternoon bar potluck and I saw the Tajin in with the canned green chilies. So bought some it.

Also scored a bottle of Salsa Huichol Picante which is pretty tasty hot sauce.

I can't wait to make Micheladas too.
