I'm not shopping for a new computer right at the moment, but whenever I'm in a Walmart I usually cruise the computer aisle just to see what's selling these days. I went to Wally World this afternoon, did my usual pass through the computer display, and I got a bit of a surprise.
They had an Asus laptop selling for $129.99. (The last time I remember checking, their cheapest model was an HP that sold for 179.99.) For $129.99 I don't expect a powerhouse, but here's what surprised me: this wasn't a Chromebook, this was a Windows 11 computer. It has 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of eMMC storage.
I thought I had read that eMMC was past history. What's the deal on eMMC compared to SSD?
