Astrum is a good channel. Been following them for a while.

And, wow... two short years to launch's 50 year anniversary. That either of the probes still function in any capacity at all is staggering. That they still send back useful data is an absolute miracle - a testament to the Voyager team, both then and now.

I ignore it. Some people keep trying to make a link but it doesn't make any sense at all. V'ger was created out of V6 by a machine race* who saw it as kin. V'ger viewed biologicals as an infection and not true lifeforms similar to viruses while it continued on it's mission of knowing all that is knowable. The Borg were Cyborgs who wanted to "improve" biologicals and themselves through assimilation. Totally different mission and mind set. If the Borg had have had anything to do with V'Ger it would have been their big bad assimilation machine and not a cleanse the universe of those pesky biologicals that keep showing up and getting in the way of it's mission machine.

*Mentioned in the movie but expanded on and much clearer in the book.
