Fireworks Photos!

I went to watch the local town's fireworks display last night and decided, somewhat last minute, to take some pictures of them.  I staked out a decent location for viewing away from the crowd, but didn't take into account that I might be shooting photos; so it was less than optimal for doing so.  And I've never done this before, so I was on quite a bit of a learning curve.  That said, I think most of them turned out fairly decent.  Here's a few of them, and the link to the entire gallery of pictures I took is included below if you want to see them all.  Enjoy!

BTW, if y'all took any fireworks pictures, post them up...

Not bad at all, Spin.
Whereabouts in NC, by the way?  The wife is from Hudson originally.
If there really was intelligent life on other planets, we'd be sending them foreign aid.

Conservatives see George Orwell's "1984" as a cautionary tale.  Progressives view it as a "how to" manual.

My wife often says to me, "You are evil and must be destroyed." She may be right.

Liberals believe one should never let reason, logic and facts get in the way of a good emotional argument.

Thanks for sharing the pics, Spin. They look really good. Far better than anything than I could ever hope to shoot. Wink

Obtw, what building is that in the background?

Nice work!!!!  Good result.

I saw our local town ones, and posted this pic on my "Summer pics'' thread.  It is a bit of a cheat as it is a bit ''tweaked''.  I had to use a slightly faster shutter speed than ideal.  Not up to what I had hoped for.

Thanks guys!

Wow, I like that one P95Carry... lotsa 'splosions there.

Rocketman, they were in Sylva, in Jackson Co.

Schuey, the building is the old county courthouse.  They lauched the fireworks from the steps in front of it, quite picturesque.

Had I put more thought into it, and decided to brave the crowd, I could have taken the pictures from Main St. with an unobstructed view of the pyrotechnics and the courthouse.  That would have been cool... maybe next year.
