I started a very similar thread to this about two weeks ago.  I posted a picture of some people acting stupid, and complained of social decay.  All I got was lectures about some Bible-thumper frenzy I was supposedly having.

....and did you learn your lesson?.....

"The building is on fire" is a different scenario from "aw, hell, my drug-using employer is passed out naked again."

For better or worse, these individuals in the public eye don't want their ODs and mishaps to get out - and employees know this. So the first response is to circle the wagons.

Lawyers are the root cause of social decay.

Sigh... But every so often, common sense has to come into play...

I'm guessing that if the place had been on fire, she'd also have been on the phone to the Olsen/Lawyers, wondering what to do...

The Olsen kids are RICH, and from what I've seen, they also employ more attorneys than the average "rich" folks do too...

Got a source on how many attorneys they employ?

They have darn near as many as the Bush family.

But likely not as many as the Clintons or the Chicago Political Machine...

OK, serious questions.

1. Do you think very wealthy have ever acted any differently in protecting their interests?

2. Just how does this incident indicate a massive decay of our society?

Actually, I'll answer those questions for you...

1. They haven't.

2. It doesn't.

Unless this thread gets a point REAL fast, it's not going to be with us much longer...

There is no point to this thread, Mike, other than a few members being able to take two of their favorite whipping boys:
1. Public education.
2. Hollywood celebrities.
and tie them together in a thread where the two are unrelated as an excuse to rant (again) about The Collapse of Western Civilization.
As one of the moderators here phrased it a couple-three weeks back, it's just an example of searching for things over which to feel outraged and superior.
