Mine came overnight. Wife is pissed because I told her $600 is going towards new tires on her car. She was thinking money towards a leather lazy boy.

Tell her you'll wear a leather jacket and nap all day on the sofa, see if that qualifies.

Most of mine goes into savings, a bit towards finishing an STG-58, just in case we get a president that says "NO FAL FOR YOU".

Unfortunately, no.   You had to of made at least $3000 in 2007 in order to get the stimulus check.  I only made $1200 or so.

Yeah, looking at IRS it says that you had to have at least $600 in tax liability.  For a single, I think that works out to more than $3k of income.

Now that can't be right, because we had no tax liability at all and just got $900 in our account.  We had around $6000 of income though.

No, because I didn't make enough to get a stimulus check.  I did get my rebate checks on the 25th, though.

All you had to do was file.  Everybody gets the stimulus check.

I believe there was a cap at the maximum amount of money  you could have made before you were disqualified for the stimulus check as well, but I don't recall what it was.

Yes indeed. Ticked me off. I made just a couple of hundred dollars short of $3000.  sad

Crap, really?  I only made $400 last year.  How is it that people who make more than me need the money and I don't? undecided

I called her at work and told her when her appointment was. I could hear the disappointment in her voice on the phone.

It's not that you don't need the money, it's that you didn't pay any taxes to get a rebate on.

A leather lazy boy?  Apparently she's not planning on being nekkid in it.

Hell, if it is required to have $3000 in taxable income I maybe screwed then.  Made less than that last year since 11 of 12 months were tax free because of being in Iraq.

There are five things, above all else, that make life worth living: a good relationship with God, a good woman, good health, good friends, and a good cigar.

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you, Jesus Christ and the American Soldier.  One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.
