Oh, d*mmit, McCain!
« on: June 23, 2008, 12:24:35 PM »
Quote
Electric cars are the way of the future, McCain declared, and to underscore the point met reporters after the meeting beside a battery-powered Tesla Roadster. The sports car goes from zero to 60 in less than four seconds and produces zero tailpipe emissions, but retails for $100,000. The manufacturer compares it to cell phones that cost $2,000 in1985.
Quote
"Hydrogen is one of the future sources of energy in America," he added. "It's clean. It's good. But there's a lot of challenges. That's why we've got to let a thousand flowers blossom: Wind, tide, solar..."

McCain said the urgency of it all prompted him to reverse his position on off-shore drilling, last week calling for an end to a federal moratorium that is grounded in environmental concerns. He emphasized that drilling decisions should be left to states, but in answer to a question said he remains skeptical that drilling can be done safely in the "pristine" Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (commonly called ANWR), even though Alaskans overwhelmingly favor drilling there.

*facepalm*

How did we get to a choice between a Marxist and this dork, who is the only choice that's not the Marxist? HOW?!

And hydrogen is not an energy SOURCE, it's an energy storage MEDIUM. You have to MAKE it. GAHHHHH!

Well............................Where would you like to start?

Shall we start with voting for "voting for who is most likely to be elected?

Or.........How about not voting for someone because we're afraid to break from the party line?

Hmmmm? Hmmmm? Hmmmm?

It is the voter's blind stupidity for voting the status quo that has given us the two monkeys you have to choose from.

Whoever gets in is exactly who we deserve.

That's fistful's fault.

McCain saw him putting a garden hose in the water tank input of the Straight Talk Express, and came over to talk with him.  Fistful started talking all sorts of nonsense about unicorns, kindness, the golden rule and cars running on water... then asked him to apologize to his mule!

"Mule?  What mule?" McCain glanced around worriedly.  "We don't allow their kind around here."

Fistful patted him on the shoulder and praised him for being a good "alternative" to Obama, and handed him the water-hose as he walked off, shaking his head.

To this day, McCain thinks he was in a gas station. grin

Uh, no.  If you're talking about how McCain got the nomination, it's actually because a lot of conservatives were doing the exact opposite.  We were voting for the one we thought was really the best guy.  The only problem was, that turned out to be about five different guys.  Thus the conservative vote was split, and the moderates (and cross-over Dems) won.

Vote Barr - because he already knows the difference between an energy source and an energy storage medium, even if you have to go onto Wikipedia and look it up.

Oil up the guns as the country goes to hell, eh? I'm going to stock up on Guy Fawkes masks, mall ninja daggers, and capes. Is there any law against voting in costume? I suppose I have to leave the daggers at home.

I figure McCain will be about as bad as Carter.  We survived Carter, didn't we?  I mean, mostly?

 undecided

I'm still not sure I could vote for him, though.

Nope....he's as bad as Dole, Dukakis, Kerry, and Mondale.....but without the chance of winning that they had....

I saw a GREAT bumper sticker here in DFW the other day.
"Vote McCain: Because I love my country more than I hate McCain."

Earlier this year, I was all ready to hold my nose and vote for Obama; but I think I've SEEN THE LIGHT and will vote for the *expletive deleted*che over the turd sandwich.

I was thinking of doing a McCain poster, myself.

A guy in a gasmask with a polling-station sign behind him. And a slogan of "Vote McCain. Yeah, he's awful, but he's not as bad as Obama."

Inspiring, isn't it.

IIRC, I voted for your boy when Texas had its primary.

So I could at least have the satisfaction of an inverse Kerry: I voted against McCain before I voted for him.

Ya know, we've done some really good things as a country.  And some really bad things.  Whoda thunk a presidential election was all about Karma?

I'm still annoyed that Richardson didn't make the Democratic primary.
Shows how stupid Democrats are: The most qualified person arguably on EITHER party, and he gets overshadowed by a woman who was married to our previous democratic president, and a black dude who people like for some reason, but can't articulate why.
