Where to buy text books cheap?
« on: August 07, 2008, 02:11:48 PM »
Long ago, I purchased used text books from a great web site, that would allow me to enter multiple ISBNs, and would then list new and used books from various sources.  Amazon fits that description, but I think it was a different site.

Any suggestions on good sites for cheapo text books?

I've bought textbooks from Amazon and from Ebay.

I have bought some not for sale in the US books on Ebay for about %15 of new cost.

I usually get mine from Amazon.  Look for a good deal on a used one.

In addition to the above mentioned, I also use alibris.com quite frequently.

Find someone that just completed that course and buy their book(s).

I just got my VLSI book for about $40 instead of the nearly $150 the bookstore wants for it

My vote is for Amazon.  I sell 'em there, I buy 'em there.  Works out well.

Oh, please, no.  I can't read much of anything, on a screen.  Gots ta be in print, on paper.

Thanks, everyone, even veloce.  Tongue  After an hour of bitter frustration, and not a little rage, I managed to get all three books (only taking one class), from a couple of different web sites, and three different sellers.  Took almost fifty bucks, but that's less than the bookstore on campus was gonna charge me, and I might even get 'em sooner.   smiley

Our building has a free laser printer/scanner/copier. An acquaintance of mine never buys paper...he has a 25 page blank pdf.
