Probably named after where they were conceived.
Somehow, I find this disturbing.

These days it seems like half the boys (and many girls) are named Cody or Tyler.  Maybe it's just a Montana (or West in general) thing Huh?

Not bad names, but just tiresome.   undecided

I'm surprised there's not a bunch of kids named Livingston, Helena, Dillon (ok, that's one you hear a bit), Darby, Jordan (that one too), Butte, and Anaconda Cheesy

I'm especially fond of "Piper" - that is all kinds of Alaskan cool.

To the "Palindrome" thing... I'm just waiting for the M4 and -

When did people start naming their kids after towns, BTW? Is it just in the past few years?.

Nope. I worked for a guy maybe 35 years ago who had named his younger daughter after the name of a town he saw on a map, 'cause he and his wife thought it sounded nice.

Similar thing around here.

I could swear I've seen a girl with the name 'Anaconda', too.

Gotta think though that a lot of towns are named after people.
There are five things, above all else, that make life worth living: a good relationship with God, a good woman, good health, good friends, and a good cigar.

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you, Jesus Christ and the American Soldier.  One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.

Granted... but those are usually last names, not first names...

I think Howard Phillips (former Const. Party pres. candidate) has a string of kids named Liberty, Jubilee, Justice, etc.

I guess Justice is alright for a boy, but I happen to know a young lady named Justice.  Poor girl.  Fortunately, she's a fox, and pretty girls can get away with anything.   cheesy

I've actually known a couple of Pipers.  They're now probably mid-30s.

City names are fairly common here.  People are apparently quite proud to be Texan, even if they've only been here long enough to have a couple of kids named Austin and Houston.  I've even seen some girls named Dallas.  Fine names and all, but it does seem like an unusual trend.  I'm still waiting to meet someone named Waco.  That might be the 49th sign of the apocalypse.

There's a Butte, Alaska about 40 minutes from Wasilla.

If there's a more redneck part of the Mat-Su valley, it's the Butte.
