Normally they just issue a ticket and let the person go.

The guy who I did some comedy shows with a couple of years ago had, at one time, been a touring standup comic.  He new Ron on a casual basis.  His comment about Ron was that he probably smoked more dope than any human on the planet short of Willy Nelson.

Not down here.  Gotta keep the jails full.  So they can build new ones.  Incarceration is big business in Texas and possession will get you in on the wrong side of it.
