Hi, I'm Garry, and I'll be your language pedant this evening.

Please continue with the naked intruder stuff.

If you want me to continue with that stuff, I'm gonna need another drink.

I've noticed this forum is frequently homoerotic...

...and yet you keep coming back.... Wink

Good ending to this particular naked-guy-in-daughter's-bedroom story....even a naked guy is packing a dangerous "weapon", as far as I'm concerned...and me and my shotgun will be looking to "disarm" the guy...  grin

The first clue was the fact that the daughter was screaming for help.

To be fair, the pipe incident had daddy investigating 'wierd noises'.  Given that I doubt he normally carries a length of pipe around, said wierd noises were apparently enough to make him feel the need to arm himself.

Quote
The second clue was the fact that the guy was holding her at knife point.

That and the latex mask/gloves combined with extreme age difference.

Similar points:
Disturbing noises - Strangling Dad wins with actual screams
Strangers - Neither dad knew the perp before the encounter in/around their daughter's bedroom
Naked - Strangling Dad wins with the added creepyness of mask/gloves.

Dissimilar points:
Criminal record - The guy who got strangled had a criminal(sexual) record, the one hit with a pipe presumably didn't.
Consequences -  the guy who was actually attacking got killed, the one who was merely trespassing got a nasty hit to the head.
Age of presumed victim - The daughter of the strangler is a legal adult, at this time the daughter of the pipe wielder is a minor.

Honestly enough, I think the two incidents being examined had proportionate and fairly reasonable responses.  I think these incidents point towards letting ALL the adults know that you're staying over night, lest you be presumed an intruder.

I hope I am able to physically choke out men 12 years my junior when I am 64.
Isn't that a line from a Beatles song?   cool

That was the original lyric, suggested by Ringo (the only sensible Beatle).

Lennon, however, objected and McCartney agreed in the basis that choking out was more violent than getting shot and finding Jesus whilst recovering.

Harrison was out looking for his wife, who had disappeared with Eric Clapton in another recording studio.  He would have voted to go with "strangle," but was too late and the call had been made.

It's pretty much standing policy around here to shoot anyone in the house that's naked except for me and my wife Smiley

Good policy.  I think I'll adopt that as my own.

I know that guests using your shower does run up the water bill, but isn't that a little extreme?....
