ACORN office raided

Hopefully this is just the first one. They've been committing voter fraud, using the poor as tools, to benefit the radical left for years!

ACORN office in Vegas raided in voter-fraud probe

By OSKAR GARCIA – 2 hours ago

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Nevada state authorities are raiding the Las Vegas headquarters of an organization that works to get low-income people to vote.

A Nevada secretary of state's office spokesman said Tuesday that investigators are looking for evidence of voter fraud at the office of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, also called ACORN.

No one was at the ACORN office when state agents arrived with a search warrant and began carting records and documents away.

Secretary of State spokesman Bob Walsh says ACORN is accused of submitting multiple voter registrations with false and duplicate names.

The raid comes two months after state and federal authorities formed a task force to pursue election-fraud allegations in Nevada.

No kidding.  It's just incredible, the kind of things that are going on there, in full public view.  I heard one woman, on a radio interview, who was talking about how she was driving homeless people to voting/registration places, telling them they should vote for Obama.  "I think it's time for a change", she says.

Aren't these the same people who are still crying about how the last two elections were "stolen"?  I guess it's OK, since they're just going to counteract all those awful racists who are just voting against the not-white guy.

More (alleged) voter fraud by ACORN.

http://www.komonews.com/news/8729967.html

SEATTLE (AP) - King County prosecutors filed felony charges Thursday against seven people in what a top official described as the worst case of voter-registration fraud in state history, while the organization they worked for agreed to keep a better eye on its employees and pay $25,000 to defray costs of the investigation.

The seven submitted about 1,800 registration cards last fall on behalf of the liberal Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, or ACORN, which had hired them at $8 an hour to sign people up to vote, according to charging documents filed in Superior Court.

Secretary of State Sam Reed told a news conference it was clearly Washington's most serious instance of voter registration fraud.

"This was an act of vandalism upon the voter rolls of King County," said Dan Satterberg, the interim King County prosecutor.

Satterberg, Reed and other officials stressed that the defendants were motivated by financial gain rather than any desire to toy with the outcome of an election. They said that in one sense, ACORN was victimized because it paid for voter-registration work that was never performed.

But in interviews with King County Sheriff's Detective Chris Johnson, several of the defendants - while freely admitting they forged the forms - insisted that they had been told ACORN would shut down their office in Tacoma if they didn't improve their numbers, Johnson wrote in a probable cause statement.

One, Ryan Olson, said another worker in the office told him "do what you have to do" to turn in more cards.

ACORN's oversight of the workers was virtually nonexistent - to the extent that civil charges could have been warranted, Satterberg said.

In a settlement agreement announced Thursday, ACORN, which cooperated with the investigation, agreed to pay $25,000 and to make improvements in its management, training and oversight of suspect voter registrations throughout the state.

Acting Seattle U.S. Attorney Jeff Sullivan said he believes the agreement could become a model for other states in dealing with organizations like ACORN.

"Voter registration is a vital part of our work to increase civic participation," said John Jones, president of Washington ACORN. "We need to continue to do that work, and do all that we can to make sure that no one is trying to pull a fast one on us, and creating problems for the registrations, to get money they haven't earned. We will be working closely with county officials to do that."

ACORN, founded in 1970, has run voter registration drives across the country, with allegations of fraudulent registrations surfacing in several states, including Pennsylvania, Ohio, Missouri and Colorado in recent years.

The Washington state probe began after King County election workers in October spotted apparently forged voter-registration cards among about 1,800 that were turned in by ACORN. The cards arrived a day after they were due for the November election.

Election officials feared that tossing all of the registrations could inadvertently disenfranchise any potentially legitimate voters in the batch. So they allowed the names to appear on the rolls for subsequent elections, including an advisory vote on replacing Seattle's Alaskan Way Viaduct in March.

But they flagged those names and tried to verify them using other state databases. Only six turned out to be legitimate voters, Satterberg said. The King County canvassing board agreed to remove many of the rest - 1,762 - from the rolls Thursday, satisfied they were fraudulent.

Investigators determined that no votes were cast from the fraudulent voter registrations.

Charging papers said that in many cases, the ACORN workers flipped through phone books or baby-name books at the Seattle Public Library, picking names from one page and addresses from another.

Frequently they listed homeless shelters as the addresses, requiring shelter staff to spend hours going through their records to determine whether any of the people had actually lived there.

None of the defendants could immediately be reached for comment. Some had unlisted phone numbers or numbers that had been changed, while others did not return messages seeking comment.

Dan Donohoe, a spokesman for the King County prosecutor's office, said he did not know whether any had obtained attorneys.

The defendants are:

-Tina Marie Johnson, 24, of Tacoma, and Jayson Lee Woods, 19, of Elkridge, Md., who each face eight counts of providing false information on a voter registration, a felony punishable by up to one year in prison.

-Clifton Eugene Mitchell, 44, of Lakewood, the political organizer in the Tacoma ACORN office at the time of the alleged wrongdoing last August and September, and Olson, 28, of Needle, Calif., each face two counts of the same.

-Robert Greene, 56, of Tacoma, and Kendra Thill, 18, a transient who has not been located, face one count apiece.

-Brianna Debwa, 35, the quality control specialist in the office, faces one count of providing false information on a registration, and one count of making false statements to a public official.

Sorry folks its only voter fraud when the Republicans do anything crazy like ask for ID or something like that.  When the Democrats do what they are doing it is getting the communities involved. ;/

I thought the Seattle story looked familiar -- it's from July 2007.   :police:  But, the point remains that ACORN is heavily involved in election fraud.

getting the communities involved.
I deleted most of this post. The real powers to be would not appreciate my theory that I summarized.  It all started out as this smart well educated young man who moved to Chicago and became a community organizer..... It goes from there.   You need to look at the connections of ACORN with Obama and Bill Ayers.  Read the Wikipedia summary of Weather Underground or Weatherman.  This is important. Form your own conclusions.  But ACORN is just the tip of the iceberg.  Obama is Bill Ayers' man and Ayers' objectives are not considered acceptable by most people.  Ayers is infecting the children with his Marxist propaganda.  ACORN is trying to slant the election just like the old Chicago folks did years ago and it will probably work.  Just look at where they are active.  A conspiracy right under our noses and the cancer is all through the Democratic party.  On top of that, the taxpayer is paying the bill for their activities.

Consider who else are BIG Obama supporters especially when he first started his presidential campaign.  Look at their political leanings.  Maybe Hillary would have been a better choice.

Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are nothing compared to this if you connect the dots.

Missouri found several hundred falsified voter registration cards today at an ACORN office as well.

Also, a nice article in the NY Post.

http://www.nypost.com/seven/10082008/postopinion/opedcolumnists/the_pro_barack_vote_fraud_drive_132618.htm?page=0

SYSTEMIC corruption of our election process continues. Barack Obama and his old friends at ACORN and Project Vote are leading the way. This radical revolution is taking place in your backyard. And as I've reported before, this voter-fraud racket is on your dime.

On Monday, the two groups announced the wrap-up of a 21-state voter-registration drive targeting low-income people and minorities in such battleground states as Ohio, Pennyslvania, Colorado, Florida, New Mexico and Wisconsin.

What's wrong with that? For starters, these two groups are militantly partisan outfits purporting to engage in nonpartisan activity. And their campaign comes amid an avalanche of fresh voter-fraud allegations involving ACORN in many of those same states.

ACORN has helped register over 1.27 million people nationwide. It gets 40 percent of its revenues from the taxpayers, with the rest coming from left-wing heavyweights like billionaire George Soros and the Democracy Alliance.

Lefty lawyer Sandy Newman founded Project Vote, a 501(c)(3) organization, to register voters in welfare offices and unemployment lines with the explicit goal of turning back the Reagan revolution.

The two groups are inextricably linked - and at their nexus is Barack Obama. Despite his denials of any association with the group, Obama's political DNA is encoded with the ACORN agenda.

As I've noted previously ("ACORN: O's Ugly Ally," June 26), Obama trained ACORN members in Chicago. In turn, ACORN volunteers worked on his Illinois campaigns and ACORN's PAC endorsed him in this year's Democratic primaries back in February.

And Newman hired Obama in 1992 to lead Project Vote efforts in Illinois. The effort's motto: "It's a Power Thing." Today, the Obama campaign's "Vote for Change" registration drive is running in parallel with ACORN/Project Vote, targetting the same sorts of people.

It's an all-out scramble to scrape up every last unregistered voter sympathetic to Obama's big-government vision. "Our volume," Obama campaign manager David Plouffe bragged of the voter-registration program, "is going to be enormous."

Quantity over quality. That's the ACORN way - and the fraud allegations keep piling up:

* Yesterday, Nevada officials raided ACORN's Las Vegas office after election authorities accused the group of submitting multiple voter registrations with fake and duplicate names. Among the bogus monikers: names of former Dallas Cowboys players.

* Lake County, Ind., election officials this month rejected thousands of registration forms ACORN had turned in from its drives this summer. On a conference call yesterday, GOP officials noted that up to 11,000 of the applications were no good - tying up election officials and jeopardizing the voting rights of untold victims whose identities may have been stolen.

In what seems to be ACORN's standard operating procedure, vote canvassers had pulled names and addresses from phone books and forged signatures. According to a local paper (the Northwest Indiana and Illionois Times), "Large numbers of voter registration forms bore signatures all in the same apparent handwriting style" and "apparently the organization's canvassers broke rules to meet ACORN-set voter registration quotas to get paid." The fake registrants include dead people and underage kids.

* Milwaukee, Wisc., officials last month discovered at least seven felons employed as voter-registration workers for ACORN and another affiliated group. (State law bans felons from such work.) They also uncovered a raft of problematic voter-registration cards. The state GOP accuses the group of trying to get dead, imprisoned or imaginary people on the voter rolls. Fraud has plagued ACORN's Milwaukee chapter since the last election cycle.

* In Florida, in Orange County alone, ACORN workers turned in multiple, copycat forms for six separate voters over the summer. The Miami Herald reports: "One individual had 21 duplicate applications."

Election officials had flagged ACORN's negligent practices months ago. But it may be too late: In Orange, Broward and Miami-Dade counties, ACORN has signed up 135,000 new voters, nearly 60 percent of them registered as Democrats - a fifth of all new voters in that region.

* In Ohio, large numbers of homeless people got free van and bus rides to register. Shelby Holliday, a reporter for Palestra.net, filmed ACORN shuttling in some prospects. She told me she spoke with one homeless woman who said ACORN "told her who to vote for if she wanted a 'better life,' and told her not to worry about jury duty (one of the reasons this homeless woman didn't want to register) because the government probably wouldn't be able to track her down. She was registering with a temporary address."

Holliday interviewed another homeless man targeted by the registration drive who exulted that he was voting for Obama because "I want him to do his thang. You know, do his thug thizzle."

"Thug thizzle" is street slang for performing your trademark move. Obama and ACORN have practiced their thug thizzle together for years: Organizing an ever-expanding community of ineligible and marginal voters to expand the Democrat power base. Rules be damned.

This whole deal needs to be brought out into the open.  In my opinion, if the truth gets out, it will be the downfall of B. Obama in this election and it could bring down some of the congressional leadership.  Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are interwined with this whole deal.  And the roots of the real problem go back to former President Bill Clinton.  His response to questions about Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, in effect... who could have known?  This ACORN thing is just WRONG.  Who's behind it?  Bill Ayres, George Soros, the Democratic party leadership, and others....  their objective is not to bring down the Reagan revolution as stated.
Quote
explicit goal of turning back the Reagan revolution

It is about the complete alteration of our country into a socialist state.  How do you do that?  First you win the vote by any means....

To politics, John McCain MUST link Obama with ACORN and the Democratic party's practices.  If normal people learn just how big this voter effort has been, it should disgust them.  Remember the Florida vote in the last presidential election came down to a few votes that tilted the election.  And Al Gore still says the election was stolen from him. Then you link the home mortgage backing by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and you begin to see where this goes.  This whole deal puts a terrible stink on our November election.

There have been mutterings and chatter about ACORN being tied to Rezco, who can be tied to Obama. Add to this the Odinga connection and the genocide in Kenya and Obama is starting to look very bad. Not to mention that crazy guy that actually has a case stating that Obama was born in Kenya, the Obama camp actually asked for a delay. All they have to do is show a birth certificate to make this guy out to be a crazy rightwing nutjob and they can't. Something is very wrong here.
