possible, but I don't think I've ever seen one of those that folds at a 90 degree angle.  Neither in real life nor on the intranetz.  You are of course technically correct, but the odds of that being a rifle are about the same as me winning the next powerball.  You gotta admit the "shooting her foot off" comment explains a lot about the LA-Time's knowledge of guns.
