State GOP claims illegalities in new voter sign-ups

By JOHN DISTASO
Senior Political Reporter
14 hours, 22 minutes ago

MANCHESTER – The state Republican Party, alleging that its observers have been denied “reasonable access” to same-day registration tables statewide, today filed suit against the state.

“The problem is that our observers in the polling places have been denied reasonable access to the same-day registration tables,” said GOP attorney James Merrill.

“Manchester has been a problem, and it’s been statewide, and we’re trying to work through the confusion as to what’s permissible,” Merrill said. “We’re asking the court to grant us reasonable access to observe the process.”

Merrill said that polling is “public under the Right-to-Know Law and we need to be in a position to observe the process, and we’re trying to ge the court to acknowledge that.”

Merrill said a hearing is underway at this time at Hillsborough County Superior Court in Manchester.

UnionLeader.com has a reporter on the way to the courtroom.

Merrill said that reasonable access means “an ability to stand in a place to observe the registration process occurring. I’ve gotten feedback where we had people stationed 40 feet away from the registration table,” which he said is too far away to adequately observe the process.

Merrill said Judge Gillian Abramson is presiding at the hearing. He said attorney Charles Douglas is representing the GOP, Andru Volinsky is representing the Democratic Party and Anne Edwards of the Attorney General’s Office is representing the state.

I just heard from someone who went to the polls near here that there's lots of people getting out of cars, some with Mass plates, to "same day register".

This is NOT going to be decided tonight. This is a freaking JOKE! A bad, third-world, banana-republic-caliber JOKE!

I heard on the news last night that the Chosen One was in danger of losing New Hampshire.

Can you blame these people for wanting to assure his ascension, however possible!?!?

It's not like the laws ever really mattered to liberals anyway.
I wish the Ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had happened.

So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us. There are other forces at work in this world, Frodo, besides the will of evil. Bilbo was meant to find the Ring. In which case, you also were meant to have it. And that is an encouraging thought

Here in Wisconsin, the estimate is that there will be 50,000+ illegal votes cast. (Kerry won Wisconsin by 11,000 in 2004).

Last week the police department unit in charge of monitoring polling stations was disbanded, and rookies took their place. The former head of that unit took today off, and has already arrested four illegal voters, while the rookies haven't made one arrest.

The former head of the unit ticked off the mayor last year when he issued a report on illegal voting in the 2004 election, and said that over 5,000 non-existent people voted in Milwaukee. Do you think that's why he was transferred?

Obama volunteers are electioneering inside the polling stations, passing out Obama literature at the doors of the polling places, and poll workers are not having them removed.

Cars from Illinois are showing up at polling stations. In Wisconsin, there's no ID required to vote. If you have no proof, all you need is for someone who lives here to say that he knows you.

People who voted early have gone to the polling places to see if their names were checked off as already having voted, only to find that they weren't.

Yep, it's a little Chicago up here.

What we are seeing and have seen is the breakdown of responsible government in America.  We are supposed to honor a system that has become a travesty?  What fool would put his life, his fortune, his family's well-being on that?

If Obama wins, why are we supposed to recognize that as legitimate?

Honestly? I won't. I will DEMAND full investigations of all the fraud, and a recount with dismissal of the fraudulent votes!

And you won't demand the same?

Fine. Enjoy your socialism. I'll be with the likely LARGE number of people making that demand for investigation and recount every single day till it's done.
