Interesting error message I get when I browse to www.thehighroad.org, have a look-see:

vBulletin datastore error caused by one or more of the following:

   1. You may have uploaded vBulletin 3.5 files without also running the vBulletin 3.5 upgrade script. If you have not run the upgrade script, do so now.
   2. The datastore cache may have been corrupted. Run Rebuild Bitfields from tools.php, which you can upload from the do_not_upload folder of the vBulletin package.

This is the message I get...

    UPGRADE TIME

    The board is closed until the newest version of vBulletin has been installed. I expect the upgrade itself to take less than 20 minutes, but the follow-up step means digging through all the customizations we've done and making sure things work right with the new version.

    I hope the server is accepting your connections again in an hour. It's now 4:55 EST

Ok, they're upgrading the V-Bulletin software.  Go, Derek!

5:35 EST UPDATE

Other than the upgrade directions missing a crucial step, the upgrade went cleanly and we're now running the newest vB (as can be seen at the bottom on the page). Now I just need to make sure things work well, and the board'll be back.

Might still be a half-hour, though.

It's another so-called "upgrade," all right: the user interface went from bad to worse.

Software engineers should never be allowed within five miles of user interfaces.
