Fight Blago, Fight !!!!
« on: December 22, 2008, 12:29:21 AM »
As a resident of Illinois, I'm proud as all get out that my governor has decide to plant his flag on this hill and fight to the death.....

No, really I am...

Seriously..... I am....

Why you ask ??

While I personally can't stand him or any of his policies, Blago's defiance does several things, all good.

1.  It creates a HUGE distraction for the ChosenHopeAnnoitedChange One.  You know THATONE is saying to himself "Will no one rid me of this turbulent Governor ?"   He's in a no-win situtation.  The stink coming off this is going to wrap itself around Obama and at some point the press is gonna turn on him.  Their starting to already, his stonewalling, the "US Attorney ate my homework" excuse is going to last only so long.  Once the press smells blood in water, it'll be a feeding frenzy.  Blago's "Come and Get Me" strategy has raised the stakes and until his demands are met, he's gonna be Obama's itch that can't be scratched.  Keep an eye on Rahm Emanual, he's had something like 21 (wiretap recorded) contacts with Blago and his people.  OUCH.... Remember you don't have to rob the bank to convicted of conspiracy, but if you and I talk about robbing a bank and then you go case the joint.... we're all GUILTY !!!   If Obama jettisons Emanual, you know it's gonna get bad/good.

2.  Obama's political godfather is State Sen. Emil Jones (D-Chicago) ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emil_Jones )and retiring President of Illinois Senate.  He retired right before the election and had his son named by the Dem Machine to take his place on the ballot.  Naturally the son "won".   Guess who's Blago only friend in the Illinois Legislature.....

wait for it......

Emil Jones.

Yep, Jones was positoning himself to be named US Senator, funny that nothing has been said about him, but I'd bet anything that once a few more layers on this onion get peeled back, he'll be looking to join Blago and Ryan in Graybar Hotel.

3.  When everyone and their brother called for Blago to resign, it reminded me of the movie "Beethoven".  Where the big, wet, muddy dog is standing on the bed in nicely decorated bedroom and the dad yells "NOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooo" and the dog begins to shake, sending water, mud and dog drool all over Mom's nice, neat, pretty bedroom.  That's Blago.  He's the wet muddy dog, and no one wants him to shake crap all over the place.  But shake he will, as Blago fights this, expect more names to come out.  Senate Candidate #5, aka Jesse Jackson, Jr., is just the first to get stuck by the Blago "tar baby".  Whoever the Republican candidate for Jackson seat in two years is, will just have to repeat "I'm not Senate Candidate #5." and cruise to victory, but JJ Jr, might get beat in the Dem primary by someone using the same tactic.  Tune in later.

4.  He's hired Ed "No Deal" Jenson.  And the next day Jenson went to Springfield and had the impeachment committee stuttering and backpedalling, basically dancing to his tune and making them look like two-bit, redneck, backwardsazz hayseeds.    For those of you who don't know Jenson, he's the exact opposite of LT. Kaffee in "A Few Good Men", he NEVER plea bargains.  NEVER.  He loves nothing more then a good court fight and will give Fizpatrick a run for his money.   Even after Jessup announced that he ordered the Code Red, if Jenson would have been Jessup's lawyer, the Jury would have given Jessup a tickertape parade after the trial.  He also stands a pretty good chance of winning.  Fitzpatrick has already tainted the potential jury pool with his press conference and the criminal complaint.

I don't think so.  I'll bet that as HopeyChangey continues to backpedal on his campaign promises (Iraq Pullout, Bush Tax Cuts, etc), the press will become disillusioned and the pitbull juices will start flowing as the Blago/Illinois Corruption scandal morphs and grows.  They'll turn on him like a spurned lover, ala boiled rabbit in Fatal Attraction.   Especially if they get a whiff that some of his top people were involved.....

I wonder how long it's going to take the media machine to turn on him...

One other thing.  When this first broke all the D's and R's were saying that because the Senator selection process is now tainted, we need to have a special election instead.  Now that it has become apparent that any D candidate would get creamed in a special election, the D's are backing off.  Including Lt. Gov. Pat Quinn, not a good move.  Just further infuriates the electorate.

Oh, and I'm personally happy that we only have one senator, though I'd prefer that we'd have none.   Durbin's shilling for Ryan's pardon has really set a new low.  Nice of him to mention it only after the election.  Maybe now we can get a recall provision enacted.

This scandal has the press starting to circle like sharks.  They'd love nothing more then to devour a sitting governor, and the more politico's they can drag down the happier they'll be.

Except for this one, Scout.

Media sold its soul to Rock n Roll with Obama as he may be the Left's last chance to impose full-blown socialism on the USA.  They will downplay and softpedal this.

Okay, while Politics was closed there were a couple of developments.

1)  In an announcement that surprised everyone (meaning no one)  Obama's internal investigation revealed that "These are not the 'droids you're looking for."  And the press cheerfully reported that "Whew, this clears up everything and is the definitive answer.  Case Closed, everyone can just move along now.  Look !!!!  Israel is beating up the Pali's again..."

2)  Blago found an emptier suit to take the senate seat of the empty suit that held it.   Roland Burris, a man with as big an ego as Obama but without the polished image.  A man who's claim to fame is....errrr, ummm..... ahhhh, well  hmmmm.   Anyway Blago found a way to play the race card and stick it sideways up the Illinois Legislature's, US Senate's and ChosenHopeAnnoitedChange's fourth point of contact.  "Go ahead and tick off the most rock solid part of of your base, by refusing to seat the ONLY black man in the US Senate."  Even Bobby Rush (D-Black Panther) overplayed the race card by using such words as "Hang and Lynch" in his praise of Blago's pick.

3)  The Stupid party better be taking notes and needs to step up to the plate.  I was listening to the news the other day (Fox) and they had a Dem and Rep discuusing the situation here.   The Dem said something to effect that reason they changed their mind on the special election was that they needed to put the interests of the Dem party first to retain the seat.  The Rep said nothing.      I would have come back with " We need to put politics aside and do what is in the best interest of the people of the state of Illinois.  The selection process is irreversibly tainted and the only way to ensure that the will of the people is represented is to let the people choose."
Take the freaking gloves off and fight, you're already wrestling with a pig, get over yourself and work for America not the Rep party.

4)  The Dems blew it.  Blago is inside their OODA loop.  They are reacting to him and not the other way around.  They had hoped that he would go quietly, but they own ego's got in their way and they forgot that his ego is just as big as theirs.   The longer this drags on the more it taints Obama and the rest of his Chicago Machine appontees and staff.   They don't get it that Blago isn't going away until his demands are met.  He has nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Op/Ed piece this morning by a Illinois born writer who knows Mr. Burris says he's not the brightest bulb, that his ego supersedes his smarts.  In other words, a low level bureaucrat.  This appointment appears to be Blago thumbing his nose at, well, every D politician from Obama on down to the ward healer. =D

You're dreaming, any so called negative press for Obama will be a smokescreen to appease his sycophantic followers; just enough to keep the public from turning on the press.  They'll touch on something negative for a day and then report on puppies that need shelter.

The day the press turns on Obama is the day he turns true conservative, and that ain't happening.  The press and Obama are the same entity, they won't turn on him until he turns on them.

Illinois' embattled governor complained through his spokesman Saturday that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is guilty of a conflict of interest in that Reid telephoned him in early December to discuss the seat being vacated by President-elect Barack Obama.

Lucio Guerrero, spokesman for Gov. Rod Blagojevich, said he didn't know firsthand which candidates the Nevada Democrat supported during the call but said he knows Reid's candidates did not include Roland Burris, the man the governor recently picked for Obama's seat.

I doubt Harry Reid's "preference" was expressed as such.  I imagine that phone call went something like this:

Reid:  So, Blago, I got this guy to fill the empty senate seat.  I want you to appoint him tomorrow.

Blago:  Ok, but I'm not appointing nobody unless I get something in return.  So what are you going to do for me if I appoint your guy?

Reid:  Who the eff do you think you are?  I'm Harry Reid, I don't do things for you, you do things for me.  Appoint my guy.  Tomorrow.  Or else!

Blago:  Who the eff do you think you are?  I'm Blago, I run this state.  I decide who goes to the Senate.  If you want your guy in, then you're going to pay me to put him there.

Reid:  I'm bigger than you, more important.  I'm not going to give you a effing thing.  So eff you and your stupid effing haircut.

Blago:  I'm in charge here, you mousy looking little effer.  Eff off!  I'll appoint whoever I want.

Burris was blocked from being seated by the Dems.

Also, he refers to himself in the third person. What's up with that? I thought that was a sign of mental illness?

I'm just tired of the whining.  "What don't you people understand?  This is a legal process.  The governor appointed me.  Waaaaaah!"  It's all such obnoxious theater.  Of course it's to be expected, but it's annoying just the same.
