What did I do wrong?

Nothing, really.  "Helpful to a fault" is a bit of a colloquialism.  I was meaning it with a tint of sarcasm, and it all just went left on me.

Just arrest someone - We'll figure out something to charge them with later!
This attitude is becoming too prevalent

Too right.

Just Google "Scottsdale AZ airsoft" and pay attention.

It's legal here. A suspect can be held for either 24 or 48 hours (I can't remember which). If he's not charged by then he has to be let go. I would argue that its a good thing. Imagine if they caught someone they thought was a mob boss. In a department without computers in the cars they would not be able to verify that suspicion until they got to the station. If they couldn't pick people up for suspected activities then alot of criminals would get away.

And that's true, but the problem is that with every year, more and more activities are suspected.

Tiny lil' Chilton, WI. A city small enough to walk from one end to the other in maybe an hour, hour & a half. And the cops have computers in the cars.

Point of fact, I can't remember the last time I saw a cruiser without a comp in it.

How much police effort was put into cracking this case?
This has actual public safety ramifications.

Did I miss the news that day?

I do not recall anyone being arrested for posting altered images in public places of the joker before him - so why this one?
