I picked up a copy of Grand Theft Auto - San Andreas for the PC, for $9 the other day.

Always heard about these games and how they are warping the fragile structures of good clean minds.

Not very far into the game, but it is kinda fun running around putting the beat-down on random people for no good reason, and stealing cars.   The controls of the fighting system are horrible... the camera needs to intelligently pan behind my player character's shoulders rather than having to be manually adjusted during the middle of a fight.  That really sucks.

Did my first drive by (in the game... settle down, I'm not warped yet!) yesterday.

My street cred is growing... No white 'n nerdy for me!

Never have finished that game. Opened up all the locations, got all the goodies (I think) then just went on rampages to see how long I would last...

Interesting things to try -

Park a group of cars together (preferably in the middle of the road) and throw in a grenade. Chain reaction chaos.

Drive the bulldozer/front-end loader through traffic.

Shoot out tires on passing cars and watch the results.

My favorite antics:

Jump on top of a car or pickup truck on the freeway and start shooting at other cars, once the vehicle you are standing on is disabled, jump on another.

Another fun thing to do that's mildly entertaining and takes very little time to set up:
Use cheat codes to get all of the weapons. Walk onto the street behind your house and set satchel charges at both ends of the block. Steal car/truck/van and park it next to building in middle of block, and jump on top of it to jump onto roof in the middle of the block. Start picking off people. When the cops show up, set off satchel charges to block off the street. Hide under roof overhang from helicoptors and use rocket launcher to take them out. You could last a long time in this position if you are careful.

Also always beat up dealers when you see them.  Its socially responsible and lucrative!
