.22 bulk packs trickling back into Wally World

The local Wal-Mart seems to be getting regular and consistent shipments of the Remington Golden Bullet 550 rd bulk packs. They only get one case (ten boxes) at a time, but the deliveries are hitting roughly every other day. Only problem is they've instituted a 2-box limit per transaction. Price locally is still the same at $13.97.

You still better be there just after they put it out, but at least know you have a few more opportunites during the week.

The Wal-marts around here seem to be getting back to normal with the ammo supply.  They've even had several flavors of .223, and plenty 9mm and 40 the last few times I checked.

Does anyone else's wallyworld sell 7.62x39?  Mine does and I get a kick out of it.
On two occasions, I have been asked [by members of Parliament], "Pray, Mr. Babbage, if you put into the machine wrong figures, will the right answers come out?" I am not able to rightly apprehend the kind of confusion of ideas that could provoke such a question.

I've seen some brass 7.62X39 here, but it is not exactly cheap.  The best I've seen is a 100 round box of Federal 223 for about $40.  They had some inexpensive Federal 9mm and 40 cal at times also.

Still looking for any interesting ammo at Dallas wal-marts. Still only CB-caps and deer boolits.
Maybe a rare occurence, but then you only have to get murdered once to ruin your whole day.

No .22lr but for CCI CB and CB longs here in the Wabash Valley (yet).

It is still very hit and miss at the two Wal-Marts near me.  

Usually, there are only a few boxes of .22 shotshells and a few golden bullet 50 round boxes, along with some birdshot and deer hunting type cartridges.  

Occasionally there are a few boxes of .223, 30 carbine, and 7.62x39, but the prices aren't so hot.  

The one thing that I can get pretty consistently is Blazer Brass .40 s&w

I like that .223 also, but the ammo is stacked vertically in a tight box.  Once you open the box, you pretty much have to do something with all 100 rounds.  :)

Can't say I have ever seen 22 shot shells at the local WalMart. But that might be because I did not look all that hard for them. They almost always seem to have a small assortment of different 22 ammo in 50 round boxes. Usually 1 or 2 boxes of 5 or 6 different kinds, and then the bulk packs. Not seen any Remington bulk pack 22LR at all. Just Federal. But have not been there for a few weeks.

The last couple of times I have been there they had a good amount of 22LR bulk packs and 223 bulk packs. Other calibers have been more spotty, although I did see a few boxes of 45ACP for the first time in at least a year.

That's the Winchester 350 rd packs, not the Remmy 550 rounders. Wally World carries both.

Federals are still semi-available in the 500 packs (actually 10 boxes of 50).  I bought several earlier this year when the sporting goods manager over-purchased and have recently seen the tag for the same item (for $15) at another WM.

That's terrrible.  I stocked up with Federal 9mm from the Great Wally-World for $8.96/50.  Not 2008 prices, but not too bad.

Our local W-marts have been stocking plenty of Federal 550 packs for $15.95.  Whoever had been buying them all up must have a houseful now because they are no longer disappearing as soon as they go on the shelf.

A year and a half ago I bought a couple hundred rounds of .45ACP Blazer Brass at 9.48/50. I think it was a pricing mistake. I would have bought more but the wife factor kept me from it.

Well, yeah.  My local Walmart had some Winchester 9mm for $21.90.  I should've bought both boxes but, well, I'm an idiot.  I got rid of all my Wolf 9mm last weekend(crap, crap, and I say again CRAP, five bad rounds out of 250 is terrible, even for range ammo) so my pistol ammo can is a little light on the 9 Luger.

As for getting a kick out of Walmart stocking 7.62 Soviet, most stores around here do, and oddly enough it was the only caliber I saw with any regularity during this year's ammo crunch, with .223 being a close second.  Most of the rifle calibers are in stock now, but the only pistol ammo they had was in .25, .32, and .357SIG :p

Now, if only Walmart sold *rifles* in 7.62x39... I swear they only sell guns chambered for hunting rounds - .270, 7mm, .300 Win.  Nothing in .223(except for a Mini-14) or .308 at all.

Walmart's had 7.62x39 brass cased for a long time. Only problem is that compared to the usual import ammo, the price was/is outrageous ($30 for 40 rounds, IIRC).

You could probably special order a CZ 527 in 7.62x39, and I've seen the odd bolt gun in .223 there.

100 rounds loads 3 30 round mags, plus 10 rounds left over. Or 5 20 rd mags. Combine two 100 packs, and I have 6 30 rd mags and 1 20 rd mag, a good basic loadout.

Don't get me wrong, I like those 100 round packs.  They have a lot of rounds in a small box.  Much better than a stack of 20 round boxes.

I thought Winchester started selling those 330 round packs so they could have a bulk pack under 10 bucks.  I guess that fell through. 

Lately, pretty much all the Federal ammo at Wal-Mart is cheaper than the Winchester White Box stuff.
