Any Experience with Knoxx Special Ops Folding Stock?
« on: October 12, 2009, 09:34:09 PM »
I am looking for a truck/trunk long gun that fits into a shorter-than-long-gun case and is relatively inexpensive.

My thoughts are a Rem870 Express or Mossberg 500 with 18" bbl and Knoxx Special Ops Folding Stock:

OAL when folded is supposed to be 30.5".

Rem870 7-shot:

So, do any of y'all have experience with this stock?  Traditional folding stocks are supposed to be bears to shoot.

I've heard they do work well, but call for a change in shooting style. One cannot pull the buttstock as firmly into the shoulder pocket as you may be used to. Also... did you get my pm?

Check your PMs. I have a Knoxx Copstock folder, which is similar.

I have a Mossberg 590 SP, and I've been mulling the collapsible Knoxx as an avenue toward a shorter LOP. A major consideration is the safety position with a PG stock, tang vs. trigger guard. I'd go with the 870 if I had a do-over.

Not only did I buy one, I hated it - and I wanted LOW recoil.

It works as advertised, absolutely. It also makes the gun feel like it's bouncing to-and-fro (which it is) while firing. I couldn't maintain accuracy with it, no matter how hard I tried.  =(

Why would you want a stock with all wire stock sections hanging up in the air like that?  Won't they get in the way?
