New guitar
« on: December 29, 2005, 10:25:50 PM »
Well, with help from people on APS and other places, I finally chose and bought my first "real" (I don't think the youth sized plywood acoustic I had before counts) guitar: an Epiphone Les Paul Standard, a Fender 15 watt amp w/ reverb, cable, and picks for about $550 out the door. Thanks everyone!

Excellent choice for college, good instrument but can replace if something happens to it.

For college, learn more ballads and Spanish guitar.  Not that the chicks will not flock to you already, but that guitar work and take ballroom dancing and you are set!:D
I do not smoke pot, wear Wookie suits, live in my mom's basement, collect unemployment checks or eat Cheetoes, therefore I am not a Ron Paul voter.

Great choice! I think that the midrange Epiphone Standards and Fender Standards (the Mexican ones) are HIGHLY underrated.

I'm on vacation this entire week and I brought my Marshall half stack in from the garage into my office Cheesy

A year later, I figure its a good time to ressurrect this thread Smiley

The LP went back to the store; I traded it in for an acoustic. I have 3 guitars and one bass now: a Gibson LP double cut, Fender Tele 72 Deluxe, a cheapie Fender acoustic, and a Fender MIM Jazz bass. I play in the church band, play 3+ hours a day, take lessons, and am beginning to write songs and such. Thanks to everyone who got me started!
