With the amount of driving we have done since I retired, and the fact I took the missus to meet a friend from grade school she hasn't seen in 35 years, we canceled Christmas between us.  She made presents for all the kids and we supplemented that with coupons or gift certificates.

We are staying in the Valley with my best friend and woke up to his Mom (87) sick and coughing up a lung on Christmas morning so he took her to the ER and we worried.  Spent that day and the last two hoping and praying she will get better.  His Dad died March of 2007 and she longs for him.  My buddy is worried she is working her way there.

Makes us pleased to be alive and healthy.  Best gift there is for Christmas, alive and healthy.

No kiddin'.  A friend of mine just ordered a tack-tickle, and he's picking it up tomorrow.  Let us know how yours works out.  You RIA'd before?

Mostly gift cards (Home Depot...need some stuff from there).
Clothes (also needed).
Gun mags and little gadgets (stocking stuffers).

...and My wife & I got a Wii from her parents (w/ Mario Kart & Wii-Fit)....anyone know any good shooting and/or swordfighting games for the Wii?....

I got a blood pressure lowering toy, a bathrobe, a gift card, a book, an interesting watch, food and lots of lovings.

She got a half-carat diamond earrings, a fancy wallet, a cat clock, a gradual-waking aromatherapy alarm clock, books, food and lots of lovings.

Nice new winter coat.
Vest
A very nice looking Ingersoll Rand impact wrench.
And my wife let me buy a decently huge gun safe (aka; residential security cabinet)   =D  I think the specs said it weighed in at around 640lbs.  And, I still had 500lbs of sand bags in the truck.  Didn't even notice the weight in the F250 - it was like driving an empty pickup.   =)  Now I have to get that beast down some stairs and bolted to the floor.  >:D

Confirmed.  Green backs are in an envelope in the safe.  Order is placed.  I'll have it in my fat widdle fingers Wed or Thursday.  Merry Christmas to me!!!
I've fondled them at the gun shows, but have never actually shot one.  They are very milspec in their feel.  Sold big manly things
Tactical comes with upgraded sights and some other goodies.  I'll be doing some easy simple mods to it for functionality, nothing major, though.

I did a little shooting with their "GI" model, and was not disappointed.

Merry (late) Christmas to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Okay so I pulled the grips, like within 10 minutes of getting home.  Smacked some black Hogue rubber grips on it.

Pics:

Oh, my, what a big hole you have

Picked up a fobus holster and mag holder, as well as 350 rounds of ammo and a couple cheap spare mags.

Sweet.  =D

Now you just need to get rid of that full-length guide rod.

What does that do?

Makes it so you can brag about your sweet customized 1911. And you can rack the slide on your shoe.

Doesn't do all that much, in reality. The FLGR is a change from JMBs design, so the faithful disparage it.

Some people have a serious hard-on for full-length guide rods.

All of my 1911 variants have them, be they my IPSC race guns and CCW rigs, and especially with the little Caspian Officer's ACP, it's a good thing to have.

YMMV, of course, but it's almost funny how folks glom onto them as some sort of Satan's Steaming Loin Juice derivative.

If it's not a problem, leave it alone.  If you're one who has to take the gun apart every 5 rounds, it might cause you some delay...

Ah.

Right now the only mod I'm eyeballing is an extended slide release.  That, and I'll add some new quality mags when funds permit.
