Costco beer
« on: February 15, 2010, 01:01:31 AM »

I know there are some fellow lovers of the Kirkland Signature microbrew pack at Costco.  The above blog post is good entry and confirms that Gordon Biersch does the private label beers for both Costco and Trader Joes.

Their tequila is also first rate.

EDIT: Yes, it's Kirkland brand.

Chalk that up as a brain fart, not sure why I thought I saw tequila at Costco.   =|  Getting old is rough....

But there is a Kirkland Signature tequila.  I read about it in the Costco magazine.  We don't see it here in Washington because of the state monopoly in selling liquor.  I believe there is a vodka, tequila and gin under the KS brand.

The vodka is also first rate. They have the tequila at CA Costcos. I haven't seen their gin yet.

Interesting how times change. I used to always avoid house brands, but I almost always choose Kirkland over the name brand of something.

I've gotten Costco beer a time or two. I find that, while it's not top shelf microbrew, it holds its own against Weinhard's and other mass produced craftbrew.

Same here, our state sells the liquor.

I'm a big fan of their Vodka too.  It's as good as many "top shelf" selections.  At 29.99 for 1.75L, it's a good deal.

I don't have a Costco around here, but some of the Walmart "house brand" foodstuffs are also pretty decent...

...and yet that would do my liver less damage than Costco Vodka....
