Congrats!
I wish the Ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had happened.

So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us. There are other forces at work in this world, Frodo, besides the will of evil. Bilbo was meant to find the Ring. In which case, you also were meant to have it. And that is an encouraging thought

Only to those who are her actual clients.  I am sure she had a question on the Bar exam on this; I did.   =D
I was thinking more like with her husband.

Well, if my husband is my client, I'm not actually allowed to have sex with him.  I'm not sure he'd be on board with that plan.

Of course, the plan all along is for him to be my employee, but he keeps threatening to sure me for sexual harassment in the workplace.

Real like sure gets complicated when you add in things like professional ethics and statutory schemes.

I'm fairly certain its ok in NY as long as it was a pre-existing sexual relationship.

The MI rule changed recently, so I don't even remember it for sure.  I figure it I ever want to sleep with a client, it's probably worth it to take the time to look up the rule first.

One thing that I do remember is that billing the client for the time spent having sex with them is a sure way to end up chatting with the Disciplinary Counsel.

So the moral of the story is, if you are going to screw the client over (literally), don't expect them to pay for it.

I am pretty sure the rule is that you can't accept sex as a payment for legal services.  A freebie is ok.

Freedom is a heavy load, a great and strange burden for the spirit to undertake. It is not easy. It is not a gift given, but a choice made, and the choice may be a hard one. The road goes upward toward the light; but the laden traveller may never reach the end of it.  - Ursula Le Guin
