After looking with envy in our heart at our friends who lived in the service area, Amazon Fresh has finally started delivering to our zip code. For those who aren't familiar, it's Amazon.com's grocery delivery business. You order online, they drop the food off at your door inside insulated crates. We set up an account, ordered, and it was at our door the next morning before 6am. We got a variety of stuff: frozen goods, fresh veggies etc. The produce was fresh and crisp, the frozen stuff was on dry ice and rock hard.
The best part: it's cheaper than either Safeway or Fred Meyer. Without the overhead of a storefront, all the theft etc they can charge a good bit less and still make money. I'm unreasonably excited about this...
