I saw another comment elsewhere that said it was 35mph through there.  I hit Google Maps street view to check it out.  Found a 25mph sign not far from the intersection.

Never heard of 25 for a school zone.  Around here, that's the speed for regular streets.  School zone is 15 mph.

 :O i can walk faster than that. well usedtocould. most school zone are 35, and some are 45. but there are 2 or 3 25. i knew speed limits were a sham, but didn't realize it was that bad.

They are all 25 here except for one that is on the I-90 business loop and the busiest road in town.  That one is 30 with a crap load of traffic light cross walks.

School zones here are 20.  Regular speed is 30.

and it only counts when school is in session/kids coming and going. 

I doubt there were many kids heading to class at 1am.....

We have one of the 20mph ones, admitedtly in a reasonable location. The school is right one of the main roads into c-ville which has just morphed from Rural rt 20 to urban neighborhood. The have an officer out there everyday, during the school year. And people still are known to rip through there with k-5 kids all over the place.
 
And I thought school zones only counted when the flashing lights are on, everywhere...  ???

Technically, the ones by the university here are 24x7 20MPH school zones.  I regularly violate those on my bicycle.  If I get a ticket, I will frame it.

IMO, if you haven't learned to cross the street by the time you get to college, you need to exit the gene pool.
