I like The Doors.

Darn shame about Morrison.

so groupies are still around?
It is much more powerful to seek Truth for one's self.  Seeing and hearing that others seem to have found it can be a motivation.  With me, I was drawn because of much error and bad judgment on my part. Confronting one's own errors and bad judgment is a very life altering situation.  Confronting the errors and bad judgment of others is usually hypocrisy.

Gaga is an extremely talented singer who has out-Gaga'd just about everyone.

I can deal with criticism. I can't deal with thread hi-jacking and not taking me seriously. :D

Oh man, it goes much farther than groupies.

Think "cult".

You want good shock value with music? Alice Cooper.
Seriously? I respect Cooper, but I don't think anyone has been shocked by him in at least 20 years. The world has moved on.

She's no Madonna, that's for sure.
Well, these days Madonna is no Madonna... :P

She has been constantly mentioned in the media.
That really is not proof of anything. Weiner's wiener has been all over the media for several week now, but it does not make it entertaining.

But most of all, her fans are truly fanatics.
That is not really any reflection on her music, either. All sorts of non-musical personalities have had huge and very dedicated followings. Heck, look at the Grateful Dead.

LG's tunes are catchy and her videos are a good show. It's fairly good quality pop, especially compared to all the other utter crap filling the genre. That said, I think you have a bad case of SfDMS (Search for Deep Meaning Syndrome). It's pop music, that's all. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar, and sometimes a pop song is just a pop song.
Political tags - such as royalist, communist, democrat, populist, fascist, liberal, conservative, and so forth - are never basic criteria. The human race divides politically into those who want people to be controlled and those who have no such desire.

is that a recurring issue?  and whats the common element?

She has been constantly mentioned in the media.

So has Anthony Weiner..

She has many number one hits (Bad Romance, Poker Face, anyone?)

So has Weird Al Yankovic.

Her music is for the most part, very, very good ( if you are into this genre).

What if I'm not into the genre?

But most of all, her fans are truly fanatics.

So were the fans of David Koresh.

I should know. :) There's a personal connection between the artist and the fan.

In the old days, we called those "groupies".

There's even a university course on the subject.

Why am I not surprised? With university courses on anal sex, crop circles and Tom Cruise, why not Lady Gaga?

She also sings live at all her events, unlike many artists nowadays. She is an extremely talented vocalist, no matter what you may say about her composing (which she does by herself).

Back in the olden times, when I was a young-un, singers sang at their concerts. Call me crazy, but I thought it's what they're supposed to do.

I should get me an outfit like that.  Of course, I should probably lose about 80 pounds before I go out in public in it.  ;/

There is nothing like the smell of bacon with some good music.

My wife came home from the store with a sack full of bacon. She said they had it buy one get one.

I said, you really know how to curl my toes.

What I have found is that many guys actually like her music but refuse to admit it.

On another hunting forum some guys admitted that they listened to her stuff.

One said she was awesome, "the new Elton John."

I'm too young to have heard anything Elton did (apart from the Lion King) but I assume that he is quite good.

APS is university-approved curriculum for a Masters Degree in Threadjacking and Silliness.

Our criticism department is limited and only merits an Associates Degree.
