China is also responding with a rise in kidnappings, bride/dowry scams, an explosion in (presumably willing) prostitution, and unwilling human-trafficking prostitution of North Korean women, and others.
I promise not to duck.

Here's the thing....the doctrine of "one spouse per person" was only espoused by Paul to the early Church leadership (pastors, deacons, etc.) because those positions had a lot of responsibility outside of the home that precluded having to manage multiple wives (and multiple, MULTIPLE children).  Having one wife kept those responsibilities to a minimum....and allowed those Church leaders to focus on their flock....

There's nothing specifically for or against polygamy in the Bible....but it's a huge responsibility for one man to take on....plus, as Christians, we're obligated to follow the laws of our rulers (Romans 13.... http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Romans%2013&version=MSG )

......then again, as I've always said....polygamy is the "crime" that punishes itself.....
Impressed yet befogged, they grasped at his vivid leading phrases, seeing only their surface meaning, and missing the deeper current of his thought.

The definition of polygamy is having one wife too many.

Which also happens to be the same definition of monogamy.
Some days even my lucky rocketship underpants won't help.

Bring me my Broadsword and a clear understanding.
Get up to the roundhouse on the cliff-top standing.
Take women and children and bed them down.
Bless with a hard heart those that stand with me.
Bless the women and children who firm our hands.
Put our backs to the north wind.
Hold fast by the river.
Sweet memories to drive us on,
for the motherland.

Relevant ITT

I hope they succeed in their fight.
I have no personal interest in any sort of plural marriage deal I fail to see the states compelling interest in what goes on amongst consenting adults
Marriage is essentially a religious construct anyway and even though I'm an atheist I don't think the state has any business regulating marriage, kind of a 1st Amendment thing IMO.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.
