Allegra is now out in generic form!!!!  A toast to Fexofenadine!  This stuff works better than anything I've ever used, and I can still function.  Talk to your doctor.

I've been feeling like Lennyjoe, as well.  My car turns green overnight from the damn oak pollen.  I have to bust out the water hose just so I can see through the windshield.

Antibubba, I'd have to agree with you on the generic Allegra.  Now if they could just start selling it OTC.  My prescription ran out a week ago and I haven't had a chance to get a new one.  Why do they only write a one year prescription for allergy medicine?  I've had allergies all my life and tried everything short of accupuncture (and moving to the moon).  Do they really expect my allergy problem to resolve itself within a year of writing my prescription?

I have used OTC Claritin (loratadine) since it came out OTC.  

Have any idea when Allegra will go OTC?  

Currently, to control my allergies, I:
1. Take OTC loratadine.
2. Snort Nasacort AQ (Rx)
3. Saline/baking soda/water flush my sinus & nasal passageways (not just a squit.  Think low-pressure hosing out with 16 oz of solution.

I am going to add Zyrtec (Rx) to the mix.

I have to rotate the anti-allergy meds, as they stop working after a while.

I gotta stay on top of the allergies, else I will develop vicious sinus infections.  All that ^^^ has kept me from a second sinus surgery...so far.

If you take certain allergy meds, especially those with a lot of decongestant in them, your dingle won't work for awhile.  It's like anti-Viagra.  You'd think they could warn you on the box.  (Don't ask me how I found out.)

I don't know if it really works, but if you eat a few grains of the local pollen every day it is supposed to help you develop a resistance.  The same, to a lesser degree, if you eat the local honey (<---No double-entendre intended).
