Got a call today from them1 asking me to donate.   I've never heard of them, but she gave me a website: http://www.gunrightscampaign.org/

But it doesn't tell me a whole lot other then it's a PAC.  I don't see any names of who runs it or even what they do (other then raise money).   

I'm leery of donating to anything that is 1) a sham or 2) a WGO/GOA type organization.





1) The lady was obviously from a phone bank and reading from a script.  And the script didn't have any answers to the questions I was asking.

Tried 6 times to send the following at their "Contact Us" page - got an error message all 6 times:

What are your top 3 major goals for the next 6 months, next 12 months, and next 3 years?

I have a feeling they are in business to be in business and collect money.  If there was a way to contact them directly it might alleviate some of my suspicions.  But not many.

I sent a similar e-mail and it went through.  I'll resend one with your questions.

The lack of anything other than boilerplate on their website pegged my BS meter.  We'll see when and if I get an e-mail response.

According to the whois on their domain, it's registered to Alan Gottlieb, of CCRKBA and the Second Amendment Foundation. It also has the same physical address as the SAF.

OK, but what are they doing/going to do that CCRKBA and/or SAF are not/will not do?

Or is this just another stream for receiving money?

I have no idea. At the very least we can guess it is not a false flag operation, though.

My bet is it is a PAC which operates under different rules than a foundation or other non-profit. The proliferation of related organizations has to do with the Byzantine federal regulations and taxes.

I sent an email to saf.org, basically asking them WTF.  I'm a SAF member, so maybe I'll get a reply.

GRC donations are not tax deductible and SAF donations are.  So there will be different rules about what electioneering they can do; GRC does not have to worry about losing its tax exempt status.  That's probably the whole thing.  (there ought to be a statement to that affect on both web sites)

If that's the case they need to do some serious work to Website.  There is a complete lack of info, and the whole thing screams "SCAM".
