That Lab looks good. Might have nice confirmation, got any side-on pix yet?
New? Here? Sixteen months retired, well-setled into a nice, boring routine. Frankly tired of "adventures."
Funny thing is when I retired, I thunk unto myself, "Oh, boy, I can go to the range on weekdays now! Woo-hoo!" But last week was the first time I've actually gone. Tested out an M1 carbine with a scope mounted on it, shot pretty good, no malfs, dialed the scope right in at 25 yards.
Subaru might have blown a head gasket, overheating when exerting a little effort, OK on level city driving. They can't find any exhaust residue in the coolant though. I think it's some kind of restriction in the flow. Theu say the water pump rarely goes on those things, but I'm suspicioning the water pump shaft is slipping at high water demands. Replaced radiator cap, so it's not that. Going to make sure the coolant reservoir isn't blocked from the engine block today --when it cools down, it should be "emptier," right? But it stays at the same level after cooldown.
Biding time to see if these "minor fixes" help or a minor miracle occurs.
Odd, though. I've had a bunch of minor mechanical things go wrong in the last couple of weeks... printer died, dropped cannon on camera, dented the view screen slightly... hmmmm....
Got only one good pic from an experimental session in too-bright sunlight. I call it
"Repelling The Evil Pirates From the Subaru Islands."
Didn't realize the cannon was pointing right at the car in the shade with the bright sunlight kind of washing out the viewfinder a little.
