Any tips for building golf clubs?
Start with a large, well-stocked bar . . .

No, you're really lucky to have a Golfsmith nearby. I'm going to build a putter and a couple of wedges, but am going to use Raven components because they're nearby. Any tips for building golf clubs?
Try this:  http://www.golfsmith.com/cm/display_page.php?page_num=cm_resources&PHPSESSID=569cca825696ef1ff0d54d9fd380036c

Pretty simple, really.  I didn't buy the ferrule tool either.  A correct deep socket or piece of shafting works great.

Make sure to use the right epoxy and let dry thoroughly....

Some people do it all the time. My neighbor across the street makes all the golf clubs for his family. I'm gonna get some help from him.

I think I'm going to start out just by cutting and gluing, but eventually hope to work my way into swingweighting, spining, fitting lie, loft, etc. It should be fun!

You people are a bad influence.  I just sent off for a new titanium driver head, a shaft, a grip, and some supplies.

I really hope this turns out well.  It'll be interesting, anyway.

Wish me luck!

Good luck! Remember to use Google liberally, there's lots of helpful information about building golf clubs on the 'Net. Post pics when you're done!

I just finish prepping the components for a putter last night, and am going to asemble it today. I'll post pics too when I'm done.

Success!

I just got back from the driving rang, where I tested out my newly built driver.  This project turned out much better than I expected.  I honestly think I hit my club better than the clubs I demo'd in the local golf store.  My club cost 1/4 as much.  And it's so much cooler since I built it myself!  Cheesy

I took lots of pictures while building the club.  Now I hafta figure out how to get them out of the camera and onto this  computer so that I can post them here.

When I told a friend that I was building a golf club, he gave me a strange look.  Then he said he wanted a new set of irons, and asked if I'd build a set for him.  Tongue

Congrats! I finished my putter on Sunday; I'm taking it out tonight to try it. I took some pictures yesterday but they didn't turn out, I'm going to take some more today and post them here.

Pics!

Building that putter was fun. I'm going out today to get components for a gap wedge and a lob wedge.

That reminds me that I had the same experience. I told one of my golfing buddies that I had built a putter for myself, and he thought that was kinda funny. A little later though he asked me if I could help him regrip his clubs.
