It is much more powerful to seek Truth for one's self.  Seeing and hearing that others seem to have found it can be a motivation.  With me, I was drawn because of much error and bad judgment on my part. Confronting one's own errors and bad judgment is a very life altering situation.  Confronting the errors and bad judgment of others is usually hypocrisy.

Looks like it had a happy ending, nobody killed, but shouldn't he have radioed for a tribal cop (very early in this encounter) to back him up?  

Why was he on a reservation?  Did he try to pull them over on the highway and they fled to Indian land?

I'm curious, do the local sheriff's offices and the Indian tribes have some kind of a... "understanding" or "agreement" for enforcement across each others borders? (can't call it a treaty w/o getting the feds involved)

not sure  he was cleared they went to house of many doors.

i think they thought getting to tribal lands was a free pass

Several years ago in this area, the Snohomish County Sheriff issued deputy commissions to the members of our local Tulalip Tribes police department, making it clear that the Tribal police had jurisdiction over everyone on the reservation, tribal members or not.  So Tribal police can arrest anyone on the reservation. There are no more free passes just because you happen to cross the tribal boundary.  Before that, if you were not a tribal member and committed a crime on the reservation, the Tribal police could detain you for a short period of time but had to call the Sheriff or state patrol to actually arrest you.

After reading this thread, I wonder if this approach is uncommon.

At the closest Rez to me, there is no love lost between the county sheriff and the tribal police.  If a non-member is busted for something on the rez the tribal cops still have to hold them and call the sheriff dept who take their sweet time getting there.

Navajo tribal police are also deputy sheriffs in all the NM and AZ counties in which portions of the reservation fall.

I can only imagine, given his slurred speech, his state of inebriation/BAC and how sloppy his driving was.

What happens at 2:23?  The cop appears to extend his left arm towards the white-shirted attacker in a single-handed shooting stance, after pulling something from the left-side of his belt.  It appears from earlier in the video that the cop is right-handed and he certainly seems to have his gun on the right side.  Also, I don't think deadly force was justified at that point, and whatever it was just seems to enrage the white-shirted attacker.  Taser maybe?  I've heard that some of them deploy serial-numbered confetti, which might explain the visible cloud.
On two occasions, I have been asked [by members of Parliament], "Pray, Mr. Babbage, if you put into the machine wrong figures, will the right answers come out?" I am not able to rightly apprehend the kind of confusion of ideas that could provoke such a question.
