i rate shopped and came up with this winner.   anyone can be a member and the rate is good from $0.00-$10,000.

4.09% annual on a checking account.  kinda wierd in that all the other rates seem in line with the rest of the world.

Actually, those aren't hard hurdles to meet at all:

12 debit card transactions (I know people who do that in a day) that don't require a pin.

Home banking with e-statements (home bill payment and no paper)

Direct deposit to or a home banking bill paid from your checking account

With the exception of the debit transactions (I use my credit card for virtually everything to get the rewards points) I meet all of that handily.
