My immediate thought was a horizontal shoulder holster, but multiple articles have stated it was a neoprene IWB holster.

The Uncle Mike's sock?

My next thought is "suicide." There was such an incident just a few days ago, except that the officer was in uniform, on duty, and had been granted official permission to give the young woman a ride to the hospital. While he was driving, she drew his pistol and shot herself.

I thought my scenario accounted for the angles quite well.

I would agree - my only question (not that I *really* want to know the answer) is why was she trying to hug his arse?

First we had the kiss of death, now the hug of death.  I hope it doesn't escalate further.

The handshake of death?  The casual greeting of death?  The meaningful glance of death?   WHERE WILL THIS SLIPPERY SLOPE END!!!!

Guns kill, hugs kill... Fercristsake man! It must have been a complicity between the Hug and the Gun!... yeah. How about stupid drunk people kill, or maybe get themselves killed?

BTW this story, with the current details, reads as total hogwash; a Police Statement already dismissing a very unusual shooting as a no-one-to-blame tragic accident while it is still (apparently) under investigation? I would love to see how this would have played out if the gun owner was not a member of "Team Special".... a little bit of Compare and Contrast is in order.

"Knowledge will forever govern ignorance, and a people who mean to be their own governors, must arm themselves with the power knowledge gives. A popular government without popular information or the means of acquiring it, is but a prologue to a farce or a tragedy or perhaps both"

I've dated some interesting women over the years. But I will NEVER use a firearm as a prop for recreational activities, nookie related or not. WTF? Hey, to each their own, just hope if things go sideways, that the person kills themselves instead of their partner. Folks that kill themselves by asphyxia during recreational activities? Hey, at least they kept the consequences to themselves.

The combination of Cirque du Soliel, absinthe, and a performers pub crawl is as rare as an eight-planet ecliptic alignment, but it does happen.

Shouldn't that be "astronomer" since he is merely describing a physical event, not imputing any meaning to it?

And I suspect most of APS happens when Mercury is retrograde (which causes lack of clarity in communication) ...
