Congress questions $5 million VA conferences

Representative Darrell Issa, the head of the House Oversight Committee, wrote Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki on August 13 seeking more details, including contracts for the $5 million conference and the 18-minute video parodying the opening of the 1970 movie "Patton."

The VA oversees health and other benefits for 20 million military veterans.

It doesn't piss me off that this is another Federal spending problem.
It doesn't piss me off that nobody learned from the GSA problems.
It does piss me off that that the VA needs to focus on our veterans.

I still can't believe there wasn't more discussion of the VA, back during the Obamacare debate. Especially with the Walter Reed Hospital scandal just a few years old.
