1) Obama would never resign. 
2) Biden would either commit an obviously impeachable sin right away, or not be reelected anyway, so why is everyone afraid of that?  He's real good at pulling the curtain back for us all to see how insane the other side of the aisle really is.

The right thing is to announce on Novermber 5th that he will not accept another term as president.  Resigning is a bit ridiculous at this point.
