On the fringes of Sandy. No major damage to my property (all the vulnerable trees were taken out by a snow storm last year), but enough stuff down around town that the power is out. Fired up the emergency generator, and it worked (unlike last year). It lasted through 2-1/2 run cycles, then about 2/3 of the way into a tank of gas last night it browned out.
Fired it up by daylight today. Engine runs strong, but no volts at either the 110-volt or 220-volt outlets. Circuit breakers are good to go -- they were replaced last year, and have not tripped.
Would anyone happen to know if an older Coleman Powermate 5000-watt generator has user-replaceable brushes? (No, I don't know just how old. It was given to me a few years ago after my generator was stolen.)
