Dear Senator Reid,

I am writing to let you know that I oppose any effort to ban any sort of firearm or ammunition magazine.  Millions of Americans own semi-automactic firearms and normal capacity magazines, and use them daily for self-defense.  You will remember what happened the last time the Democratic Party made the mistake of backing gun and magazine bans.

Instead, I suggest Congress act positively.  Perhaps money from the Department of Education can be used to subsize armed guards in all the schools in the nation.
