It never ends. Now following the NY debacle, someone has published a map of all Texas gunowners.

oh my     thats gonna leave a mark
It is much more powerful to seek Truth for one's self.  Seeing and hearing that others seem to have found it can be a motivation.  With me, I was drawn because of much error and bad judgment on my part. Confronting one's own errors and bad judgment is a very life altering situation.  Confronting the errors and bad judgment of others is usually hypocrisy.

Yet, with all of those guns, a few hundred feds were able to stroll into the heart of Texas, set up a 50 day siege on private property over allegations of 'non-mainstream religeous activities', then proceed to burn 80-some men, women, and children to death, and walk away scott-free without a single Texan stepping up in resistance.

I hope that Texans have learned their lessons since then and have grown spines or their guns aren't going to do them any good.

Dude... It's entirely legal, possibly beneficial, to set aside the bitterness and have a laugh every now and then.

Thanks, I was just about going to make a similar comment.

OTOH, perhaps it is kinda like airliner hijackings pre- and post- 9-11.  Who would have thought the hijackers would deliberately down the plane?  Who would have thought fed.gov would deliberately burn them out(1)?  With kids inside.

Nowadays, we know better.

This, but also - you simply wouldn't expect people to go all Lexington and Concord on behalf of a small, unsympathetic, fringe, sex-offender cult. If it had been the friendly, neighborhood Baptist church, or the VFW, maybe, but folks aren't going to put their lives on the line for people they presumably don't know or care for.

Forty or so years ago, when I was married to my first wife, we lived near a small town in which was located a small-ish company called American Powdered Metals. The male half of a couple we became friendly with had lived in the area all his life, and he cheerfully told us that APM changed their address abut every three to five years because their building kept blowing up.

Azred baiting aside, there is a pretty large disconnect between the national perception of Texas (and their PR efforts) and the legal realities of fireamrs ownership there. Less so since they got concelaed carry.

Bring up open carry on the TXCHLForums website and you get a sense of that right there.

Don't forget, the Luby's massacre was in Texas at a time that it was a felony to conceal carry.
