feinstein on veterans and PTSD
« on: March 07, 2013, 09:36:10 PM »
http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2013/03/foghorn/feinstein-veterans-all-have-ptsd-and-are-crazy-so-shouldnt-own-modern-rifles/?fb_source=pubv1

From what I get from the article is feinstein is making an exemption to her assault weapons ban that allows retired cops to continue buying 'assault weapons' but won't give the same exemption to veterans because they could have PTSD.

You should come visit the liberal echo chamber that is known as northern California.  It will all make sense then.

I lived in california for 20 years over two separate stints.

It's be great if it weren't for all the californians

The worst thing is that Californians wreck their own state then migrate.
Screw the fence on the border with Mexico- build it to keep the Californians out.

Cops are a superior caste you know. After all, they are the ones that keep the angry population away from the throats of the gun grabbing elite. Best to keep the police community well fed and feeling special. Lord forbid they get the idea that they may be in the same boat as the rest of them. Now veterans... what more use is there for them? Put them on the trrrist watch list!

The ironic thing is, there are soldiers CURRENTLY SERVING who have PTSD. Myself included. So, we can be trusted with automatic weapons as long as we're killing brown people in the name of 'Murrica', but we can't be trusted to defend ourselves with semi-autos at home.

Easy, folks.  There are a lot of Californians fighting the good fight, but are unfortunately outnumbered.

I spent 10 years there, in Sacamento, courtesy of the USAF.

Wife #1 was from Placer County, and my father-in-law got me into Warsaw Pact guns and ammo.

While outnumbered, they still vote, and IMHO keep the really far-left proposals from making it into law.

I know it's a lopsided checks-and-balance approach, but those Californians on our side at least act as speed bumps.

You're right, of course. This is evidenced by the number of counties that have de-facto shall issue, with counties like Kern (last i checked) signing off on just about anything in the good cause portion.

My CCW came from the Isleton chief of Police.

Isleton is a small town in the shadow of Sacramento.

The Sacramento County Sheriff was enraged that somebody in his county would have the gall to issue CCW permits when he wouldn't.

He lobbied the state legislature to revise the laws so that your permit could only be issued by the municipality you lived in.

By then, there were a lot of permits already issued that had to be honored.  Really chapped his ass.   =D

Well, it is cruelly ironic...  Feinstein's entire political career is energized by her OWN form of "PTSD."  She has been obsessed with guns and gun control in an irrational way since she missed a bullet all those years ago.

The county I live in treats CCW applications as shall issue.  The DA has also been very friendly towards people who use a gun to defend themselves.  If the north part of the state split off into the 51st state I don't think you could drag me out of this place.  But it hasn't, so I'm looking forward to what is probably my twilight tour in Michigan.

Sorry, I was assuming you had never lived here before.  Eight out of the last 10 years has been enough for me.  I'm transferring to Michigan and then probably going to retire to either TN, UT, WY, ID or maybe SD.  Hopefully I can find a job teaching.

PTSD is just the beginning, of course.  It is about Wrong Thinking.  They know best.  "Hate Speech" strictures are the kissin' cousin of this thrust.
