And Gregorian chants leads by a nose... Tongue

Totally agree on the HGTV. I like the one where they take the $50,000 room and try to imitate it with $2000. "Here is their room and here is our room, what do you think?" Well, I think their room looks really nice and your looks like a piece of doo doo. How's THAT grab you? Cheesy

I've been accused of listening to 'weird' music. I recently shared some of my collection with a friend and she looked at me like I was insane the next day. I think I gave her

Godspeed You! Black Emperor-Lift Yr. Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven
Ott-Blumenkraft
Shpongle-Tales of the Inexpressible
Buckethead-Electric Tears
Sonic Youth-Washing Machine
Radiohead-Kid A
Hot Water Music-Fuel for the Hate Game
My Bloody Valentine-Loveless
Neutral Milk Hotel-In the Aeroplane over the Sea
Fugazi-repeater
The Flaming Lips-Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots

She said something to the effect of "Do you ever listen to anything that sounds 'normal'?"
Maybe a rare occurence, but then you only have to get murdered once to ruin your whole day.

My musical taste never really left the seventh grade. I still like tween pop, among other things.

These days, I listen to just about anything with a beat. Soft pop, light-medium rock, country, contemporary christian, 90's stuff, and some dance music.

Most of the stations in my car are tuned to various public and college stations.  I hear stuff I know I'll never hear elsewhere, and that defies classification.

What I've been diggin':

-Balkan Gypsy music
-Tuvan Throat singing
-Rasputina
-Candye Kane (I cannot recommend her highly enough!)
-Link Ray
-Chuck E. Weiss
-The Flaming Lips
-Leonard Cohen
-Low Millions (Cohen's son leads it-very intense)
-Nusra Fata Ali Kahn
-RL Burnside
-Super Junky Monkey
-Tool's 10,000 days
-Yeah Yeah Yeahs

About as close to mainstream I get is Bjork.

Lord help me, but I heard that guy "Richard Cheese" on my Brother-in-law's computer the other day... and liked it!!!

Untill you've heard the easy-listening version of "Insane In The Brain", you haven't lived. Mind you, after you hear it you might not want to live either...

Reminds me of another oddity I can't figure out, the only time I really care at all for Amazing Grace is on bagpipes.
Ah, this is known as the "Wrath Of Khan" effect. There is no known cure, apart from OD-ing on all the even-numbered StarTrek films until you hate the entire franchise.

Hey, Antibubba, I love Rasputina and Balkan Gypsy-type music too -- can't get into Gogol Bordello, though.

Just take those old records off the shelf
I'll sit and listen to 'em by myself
Today's music aln 't got the same soul
I like that old time rock 'n' roll
Don't try to take me to a disco
You'll never even get me out on the
In ten minutes I'll be late for the door
I like that old time rock'n' roll
"Old Time Rock and Roll"  - Bob Seger

I like the old Blues like Robert Johnson, Buddy Guy, Charlie Musclewhite....
Country  from Martina McBride, to Garth, to Toby Keith to...
I appreciate Jazz...
There is something about some small town folks picking and playing down in the Delta, in Dixie, Down South , from Key West to up the Carolina's - out West Texas  and points in between.

Some of this new stuff ain't music, ain't talent, ain't nothing - just racket and noise.

Gimme Seger, Allman Bros at Fillmore East, Cream, Steppenwolf, Three Dog Night, Grand Funk Railroad, Hendrix...
Santana -from '70 to today
Clapton
Willie, Waylon, Merle, Hank Williams Sr. and Jr....

It is nice to be a Rebel, a Relic and Reprobate.   Don't care - don't have to care.
