Yes many of them were called Craftsman houses. Many of the towns where I have lived have neighborhoods full of Sears houses and similar designs. Wife and I actually want to live in one someday.
Craftsman was a architectural style. It ran from the 1860's into the 30's. Has noting to do with the tools.

At one time I can imagine the only thing you couldn't get from Sears was hookers and blow.

You could, in some early Sears Catalogs, get blow.

And morphine. And heroine. And laudanum.

Many of the so-called Sears homes.... aren't.

Those plans were not exclusive to Sears, and many builders built homes from those plans, but not from materials from Sears.
