Funny how caricatures (mask in the article looks just like any of thousands of op-ed caricatures drawn all over the place) are somehow racist.

Liberals can go to hell.

That of course is proper and righteous free speech...

Anyone see the outrage over the slap Hillary game?

Well, in 2008, a "slap palin" game came out.  And at the bottom of the page, a photoshop of McCain giving it to Palin (in the carnal fashion).

Again, liberals get to define "outrage" and we're left to defend ourselves?  I say we should be as outrageous and offensive as we want.

From what I've read of it, it was racist -- the messin' with his big lips part gave it away.

Putting a Obama mask on a clown was fair game IMHO if they'd just stuck with that, and it STILL would have created an uproar (which is sometimes a good thing.)

That's racist!

But seriously, with so many reasons to hate Obama, why would you pick his blackness for mockery?

Is "gets trampled by bulls" a racist stereotype of blacks now?  ???

http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/08/12/19987718-rodeo-clown-who-mocked-obama-at-missouri-state-fair-banned-from-performing?lite

During the bull-riding part of the rodeo, a clown put on a mask of Obama while someone asked an enthusiastic crowd if they wanted to see “Obama run down by a bull,” according to media reports and images posted online.

A fair-goer, Perry Beam, posted his account of the event via social media. Video footage of the stunt aired by KSHB shows the rodeo announcer saying, “We’re gonna smoke Obama, man.”

I think the connotation being drawn is having a black man killed by being trampled, and that raises memories of similar occurrences in the past.

That's funny. None of the stories I've read said the lips were big. You just kind of assume that, based on the President's race?

So you're saying that Obama being virtually, hypothetically gored by a bull (at a rodeo, where there are angry bulls running around) reminds people, or is calculated to remind people, that another, totally different man under totally different circumstances, died in a totally different way? I guess all black people die alike to you.  :P

I can't find it now, but I believe I read that the clown who wore the Obama mask has been banned from the fair.

Not just told not to wear the mask again, but BANNED.

So do you feel the rodeo clown's actions were appropriate and a good representation of the people of Missouri?

Do you feel that the Bushitler protestors hanging Dubya in effigy were appropriate and a good representation of WA?

Also, "not appropriate or a good representation" isn't the same thing as racist now is it?

The only qualm would be with the Fair being tax-payer-funded, which would seem to make political commentary out-of-bounds. In normal times, anyway.

Beyond that, yes, they were perfectly appropriate. As for "a good representation," I don't know. It was certainly good, clean fun. Mocking politicians, as we Americans always do. I'd prefer something more cerebral, but I'm a snob.

If Obama had a son, he would have been gored and trampled by a white bull.   =D
