ALL the people I know who worked in fast food restaurants - heck, ANY minimum-wage job - when they were younger (including yours truly) used the jobs ONLY as stepping stones to something better. Staying at BK for 9 years, at the same low-level position you started at?
Here's my view of the situation:
The worth of a person's labor is worth EXACTLY what the highest bidder in a free competitive market is willing to pay for it.
The appropriate hourly wage is EXACTLY the lowest amount that an available, qualified individual in a free competitive market is willing to accept.
