What did you do this morning?

Me? I went sailing.







Pretty light winds this morning, enough to be interesting without being intense.

Dropped several thousand dollars on a new engine driven welder is what I did this morning.

But you know the cool thing? For me every morning I wake up to a *expletive deleted*ing awesome beach scene.

Spent the morning shipping a half a million bucks of unassembled drone back to MacDill AFB. Spent the previous three days flying it around the ocean on mostly autopilot because I was looking down into the water at the best scuba diving conditions I have seen in years without me being able to dive.

I dragged my butt out of bed to go to work for three hours.

The dead season is pretty much in full swing. Almost no boarding or grooming to be had.

Rolled out of bed at 7:55. Scratched, yawned. picked up my pants where I had dropped them the night before and carried them down to my office. Pulled the RSA keyfob out of the pocket and dropped them next to the desk. Sat down in my underwear and logged in to work at 8:01

Somewhere before 9 my wife dropped in with a plate of bacon and coffee.

Juggled some tomcats and apaches until lunch and that was my morning.
On two occasions, I have been asked [by members of Parliament], "Pray, Mr. Babbage, if you put into the machine wrong figures, will the right answers come out?" I am not able to rightly apprehend the kind of confusion of ideas that could provoke such a question.

Yep that's a lifeguard can. We have one strapped on to the front of each ATV and in the toolbox of each truck.

It is much more powerful to seek Truth for one's self.  Seeing and hearing that others seem to have found it can be a motivation.  With me, I was drawn because of much error and bad judgment on my part. Confronting one's own errors and bad judgment is a very life altering situation.  Confronting the errors and bad judgment of others is usually hypocrisy.

RKL, I think it's absolutely wonderful that you are able to do that.  I would still enjoy sailing, but living out my dream of horses right now.  You can only follow so many rainbows.

Sitting in a cramped waiting room, waiting to pee in a cup for a job, with other people being borderline abusive to their children who are also probably here to pee in cups, but I'll wager not for jobs...

Had to get a key for my car at the dealer, cut all new from the VIN number.  Olds ones so worn that re-cutting  them at a hardware store resulted in the same worn-ness.  Was getting to be pretty hard to jiggle the old ones just right to get the car to start.  Figured I'd better do that now before I got stuck somewhere with keys that wouldn't jiggle just right any more.  Other errands.  Pick up laundry, pick up mail.

Thought about sending a thank-you note to the folks involved in that Avon Co case, where the judge said it was OK to leave your gun in the car in the Post Office parking lot.  Was getting tired of having to park across the street from the PO to get my mail.

Half-composed the letter in my head on the way home.

I may actually write it and send it.

We do bi-annual piss tests and by the deities I hate the piss test place.  Always full of probably-doing-it-for-the-probation-office types.  I get twitchy about the idea of having to pop someone on company time.
