*snip*

I prefer to go to a period dictionary for these things. Words shift over time, so you have to look at what their definition was then in order to have the most accurate view of what concept the author was expressing.

At government rates, I'd guess $5,000 and $500 each, respectively.

Do we even have one of those anymore?....

I would like to see a court case challenging the SBS, SBR, & AOW clauses of NFA'34. Under current precedents, winning should be a slam dunk.

I would like that, too. All we need is a volunteer.

A court case on NFA worries me.  It could come to another case of the Supreme Court openly violating the Constitution and pretending to have the right to overturn the Constitution to protect society.  There's a risk that the Constitution gets more eroded by the Court.  We think that the Congress and the President are out of control, constitutionally speaking, but I think the Supreme Court is, by far, the most out of control branch of Government.

Smarter minds than me choose what they think are the best cases to go before the courts - on both sides unfortunately - and they don't always get the results they think they'll get.

I think we have a much better chance of overturning NFA by working it locally, starting with our county Republican parties.
